Highly Recommended!

I first learned about Gopher Records through Dick Eastman's Online Genealogy Newsletter. For years I had wanted to visit NARA myself and get copies of my ancestors' pension files. But years went by and I never got there. When I read about Gopher Records, I decided this was my chance. So far I have ordered 5 pension files and 2 service records. Bob and his team did not disappoint! The images are very clear and the information has definitely helped further my research. In fact, one of the pension files is the [...]

Outstanding value and promptness

Very pleased with Gopher. I saw an ad for Gopher and thought to try them out. A few weeks after my order, I got high-quality scans back. Faster turnaround and lower price than ordering through the National Archives.

Pension Records

I have been thrilled with the service from GopherRecords! When I first looked at ordering pension records I looked at the National Archives first and it seemed very daunting as well as very expensive! The process through GopherRecords is so easy to use and you don't get charged unless they find the file you are requesting! Thank you so much!

Wonderful

Professional and quick service.

Thank you!

Gopher Records was able to find my great-great-grandmother's rejected widow's pension application which has long been part of our family lore. It was amazing to read affidavits from various family members and see first hand accounts of events that were passed down over the years as stories. Gopher was able to provide a quick turnaround, gave status updates throughout the process, and delivered high quality scans. I will be using them for future orders.

Excellent service

I ordered Civil War service and pension records from Gopher Records. The service was excellent, both professional and quick. The records I receive were excellent scans of the records in the file. One of the files contained an affidavit from an individual who identified the soldier as his uncle. This helped me confirm an unknown/unverified child of one of my ancestors. I would definitely use Gopher Records again!

Pension record for ancestors with many spellings of the last name

I was frustrated with finding a 1812 pension record for one of my ancestors. I had his service record but not the pension. I thought I had checked every possible spelling of his last name. GOPHER found the record I needed in a short time. I will use this service again as I research my early Virginia ancestors.

Photocopy of Civil War Records

I found 4 unknown volumes of civil war records for a western NC regiment at NARA. NARA informed me they did not copy the records, and my traveling there to review them wasn't feasible. I contacted Gopher Records to see what options I had. They copied Volume I for me, all 212 pages. The quality is superb and probably more important, they communicated with me! A rarity in this day. The cost was much less than me driving there, staying over and learning the system. I would recommend them for any [...]

Finding Benjamin

I had never heard of Gopher Records until I read a post on the Adams County, Ohio Genealogy Researchers Facebook Group telling how Gopher Records helped find some very helpful pension records. Okay, I thought. I'll give it a try. I filled out a request that very same day for the Civil War Pension file for my Second Great Grandfather Benjamin Truitt. Within a few days I received an email saying my file was ready to download. Three characteristics about Gopher Records stand out for me. One, they are very personable in their email responses. Maybe this tells me [...]

An invaluable service

There's not enough good things I can say about Gopher records. They are thorough, easy to work with and knowledgeable about the record sets they work with. Not to mention the prices are very reasonable. Highly recommended!
