The quoted prices are for our efforts with respect to records that are housed at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) in Washington D.C. In rare cases, your records may be stored somewhere else (e.g., the NARA facility in St. Louis, MO). In that case, we may still be able to retrieve them but there may be an additional charge. If so, we will quote the new price and seek your approval before proceeding.

Note that our fees are for the service that we provide and not for the result of our efforts. Most record types are indexed so we will tell you before any charges are incurred if a record does not exist. For record types that are not indexed (notably "Carded Medical Records" and "Regular Army Enlisted Papers"), however, we must conduct a manual search of the records. In such a case, our fee applies even if we do not find the requested records. The blue "(i)* icon next to each item in the product list will indicate if the collection in question is not indexed. (Click on "Edit/Add Soldier" below if you want to review the items in your order before proceeding.)

Similarly, if a soldier served in multiple regiments, an order for his service records will require more effort on our part so you will be billed the specified amount for EACH record. This policy does NOT apply to "bundle" products. One benefit of the bundle pricing is it includes ALL of the soldier's records of the specified types (e.g., all three of his service records in that example).

You will be invoiced via PayPal where you can use your credit/debit card or a PayPal account. Upon payment, the records will be delivered to you as a downloadable PDF file, one file per soldier and record type.

You agree to pay our invoice upon receipt even if it turns out that you requested information about the wrong person. We are a digitization service and, while we are happy to give advice to you before you order, we cannot be held responsible for which records you ultimately choose to order. We likewise will not read/interpret the scanned records and describe the contents to you as a condition of your paying our invoice. In other words, by the time that we send an invoice to you, we have done the work that you requested. Thank you for understanding.

Lastly, you acknowledge and agree that we may at our discretion use one or more notable pages from the retrieved records as a case study or as examples in our blog, social media posts, or marketing materials. If we do so, however, we will not identify you by name nor will we share any of your contact information without your permission.
