GOPHER RECORDS

My 2G grandmother married three Civil War Veterans and my research for an application to Daughters of 1812 got me thinking that the pension could be helpful in confirming their relationship etc.
Thanks to gopherrecords, I learned the pension was available and free on Fold3 but they could get it for me also.
Because of a second index card from the National Archives “gopher” found, I learned there was another file under her third husband’s name.
My geni helper thought it probably wouldn’t be needed since it was a “rejected” application but I thought I should have it anyway, if only to have it for my personal info.
For the extremely fair price ($45) I received 182 pages. It truly was the gift that kept on giving! Filled with amazing and confirming details! What a treasure!
