GOPHER RECORDS

Gopher Records is a fantastic service! I had put in a request directly with NARA for the pension file for one of my ancestors, knowing that it would take a long time for them to process the order but assuming I had no other choice. After about a month of waiting with no status updates from NARA, I stumbled upon someone’s review for Gopher Records which claimed that their processing times are significantly faster. I figured it couldn’t hurt to try, since I was already waiting. Gopher Records took LESS THAN 4 DAYS from the time I placed the order to find my ancestor’s records and send me the file. It also felt like a very thoughtful and personal experience – before beginning the order, they emailed me to clarify that service records weren’t available for soldiers with my ancestor’s specific history (since I ordered the Civil War Soldier’s Bundle), and they offered to manually search for other similar records that might not have even been indexed for the same price. The scans I received were clear and high quality, and the quick turnaround was honestly amazing when I had resigned myself to waiting months to hear back from NARA. I highly recommend Gopher Records to anyone looking for records from the National Archives, I’m so glad I found them!
