GOPHER RECORDS

I heard about the Civil War Military records service provided by GopherRecords, and thought it sounded good. Ordering records through NARA has worked for me, but their lead time was very long. I ordered a copy of a Court Martial record from the GopherRecords folks, and they had it to me in about a week! And at a price that was extremely reasonable! Their payment application was very easy to use, and as soon as my payment was verified (well, within about one minute after I hit enter), I was sent a link by which I was able to download the files. Scanned images, not just photocopies as you receive when you order from NARA.
That first experience was positive, so I ordered more files. Unfortunately, I had looked at a Company Roster which turned out to have an incorrect middle initial listed for someone who I thought was a relative. When I realized my error I sent an email to make a correction to my request. Bob from GopherRecords called me directly to make sure we were on the same page as far as whose file I actually wanted. And so I got the one that I really was interested in. I very much appreciate his attention to detail in going the extra mile to make sure I was satisfied and had received the information I wanted.
