I was alerted to Gopher Records by a member of the Military Order of the Loyal Legion of the United States (MOLLUS) and decided to give it a try for requesting pension files and service records for my Civil War ancestors. I know that getting records from NARA can take weeks and cost quite a bit, depending on what is ordered, and that Gopher Records was providing research services at a fraction of that cost and estimated delivery within about a month of ordering.
I was blown away by the speed of delivery, as I received my records in less than 10 days. I was also impressed with the overall quality, as they are high-resolution scans. Further, with one of my records requested that was not at NARA in DC, I was made aware that attempts were being made to track down the record and get it to me.
The customer service was very good and when I had a question regarding my invoice, it was explained to my satisfaction. I have shared about Gopher Records with my coworkers at an archival facility as a wonderful option to help researchers obtain records.
The service was exceptional and well worth the price paid and I recommend researchers give it a try.
