Deciding to order the Civil War Pension File, I went on the Natl Archives website to do so. I ran into difficulties filling out their form. With that difficulty, I went on Facebook Group Random Act of Genealogical Kindness and asked others if they had similar problems. Several suggested using Gopher Records to have them
Easy to navigate site with alot of information. Placed my order and received downloadable documents in about 2 weeks. I won’t even guess how long it would’ve taken with NARA, but definitely a much longer time. Also gopher is much easier to order and affordable if ordering multiple records.
I received sooooo much Spanish/American War pension information from Gopher record it was amazing! Gopher Records puts NARA to shame! Within less than two weeks Gopher Records delivered the 253 page long pension application file full of information and other family documents.
