Gopher Records has been amazing. Turnaround times are much quicker than those provided by NARA for the same records and the prices are less expensive too. It's truly a win-win situation as a curious researcher. In addition, there is an actual person to speak to instead of the black-box we are stuck with when requesting records directly from NARA.

I am extra pleased with the 299 page Civil War Pension File on Gerhard Heinrich Plogsterdt! Fabulous! Since his widow, Louisa Wilhelmine nee Kassebaum, filed a Widow’s Pension on him, her 2nd husband (915.187), AND on her 1st husband, Heinrich Wilhelm Wiesehan (526.056), it was all in one file as well as Plogsterdt’s self-filed pension (904.779 and certificate 896.203) and was a wealth of genealogical information! Gopher Records did a great job of researching my ancestor and providing a lot of information that I didn't know was available. Land records, Service records, and Pension records all of which provided a story of his life and filled in a lot of details. Highly recommend GR and I"m already planning to get records for a couple more CW ancestors. Great job!
