War of 1812 soldier records
Great service again from Gopher Records! The records arrived in my email in just 2 days. That was faster than I could drive to NARA! Clear emails and clear records. I have recommended Gopher Records before to my genealogy friends and will do so again. Keep up the good work!

fast, reliable, honest
I highly recommend Gopher Records. All of my questions were answered prior to placing my order. The application process was easy. My records were provided quickly and a pension file that was already digitized was given to me free of charge. The records provided birthdate, marriage date and proved that I had the proper burial location for my ancestor. Highly recommend not only for genealogical purposes but also to pay respect for ancestors military service.

Brick Wall Demolished
Thanks so much to Gopher Records for the information obtained. We've searched for information on this ancestor for decades and it was truly a brick wall for us. Tried to obtain some of this info pre-Covid thru other routes and was unsuccessful. Through GopherRecords we got more than we could have asked for and that brick wall is down and new paths are open to us with this information. Lots of questions were answered and now lots of new questions to explore. My 82-year-old aunt almost cried when I shared with her and she [...]

Wonderful service
This is my second Civil War Pension record request through Gopher Records. It was very easy to submit the request, each one was done in a timely manner and the scans are perfect. Without them I would never have been able to access these records which have been crucial to my research. I highly recommend Gopher Records!

My Civil War Grandfather
I sought background information for my third great grandfathers time as a Civil Warrior. Sadly, he was captured in Spotsylvania and sent to Andersonville where he died and is now buried.
Bob did a great job seeking out my grandfather’s record.
Thank you!

Quick and Efficient
Thank you for QUICKLY finding the records I have requested and forwarding them to me. It was only a matter of a few days! I was completely amazed with how quickly you sent them. (And I found out quite a lot about my ancestor through the court martial records. He was found not guilty!!)

Superb Service
I found Gopher Records on a list of independent researchers available for hire to retrieve records at the National Archives. Bob Velke was very responsive and kept me updated as the National Archives gradually re-opened to researcher access during the COVID pandemic. Fortunately, Bob retrieved my ancestor's entire Civil War pension record including his widow's pension application where I found the information I needed to document my ancestor's divorce from a previous wife, my second great-grandmother. The county records were burned in 1864 so I had no other documentation of my second great-grandparents' life event.
