Gorgeous Scan Quality

I have ordered Bounty Land Applications from both NARA and now Gopher records. The difference in quality is astounding. The records recieved back from NARA are black and white scans of photo copies. The scans back from Gopher are high resolution and the true colors of the documents. I could not be more pleased! And the records are less expensive when ordered through Gopher AND the turnaround times are much faster. The process is literally better for the consumer in every aspect when using Gopher! Excellent service!

Thanks very much for the fine, quick, professional service! Excellent, personal, well-explained email communications. Help with the staff at the Archives in adjusting my order. The pension file came quickly, within a few days of the order being finalized. Thanks so much for your kind and efficient help!

Landon Smith

Landon Smith’s USCT pension file revealed the name of his enslaver, Harriet Parker, and the name of his wife Maria’s enslaver, Susan Chandler, plus the names of Landon and Maria’s children and their dates of birth. Speedy service and a flawless delivery.

Continually Pleased

Every order I have placed with Bob (and I think this makes 5 now) has always been done professionally and so efficiently. He is quick to answer any questions you might have and I just have never been more pleased with a retrieval company. Additionally, the ordering system is easy to use and navigate, which I appreciate greatly. Gopher Records will continue to be my servicer.

Highly Recommended

I have ordered several different record types from Gopher Records. I received each file shortly after submitting my request. The image quality of the documents was excellent. I would use Gopher Records anytime I need records from NARA. I highly recommend this service.

Fast, Inexpensive, Kind, and just Fantastic!

After trying to get a document we needed from the National Archives in DC for almost two years, Gopher came to our rescue and we had a certified copy of it in our hands in four days. Although a bit out of their usual area (soldiers), Bob answered my desperate message via Facebook Messenger looking for someone who could help us acquire a certified copy of a 1912 ship's manifest that originally brought our relatives to the USA. Back in 2020, we'd gone through the usual process of finding the document on Ancestry.com and had submitted payment and forms [...]

Unbelievably Fast Response

I learned about Gopher from a genealogy group on Facebook so I immediately went to the site and did the Free Assessment first to see if my 2nd great-grandfather had any records at the National Archives. Once I was told that he did, I paid for them, and in a matter of days, I had PDF files to download. One of them, was his pension record and his wife's request for his pension once he passed. And, in it, I was finally able to obtain their marriage date, which I had not been able to locate after five years [...]

Military Records

Gopher Records is an excellent research service. I am a return customer and have recommended them to several others including a historical society and a small museum. Super pleased! Highly recommended.

Excellent service

Easy to order. Quick delivery of records. Excellent service. Will use again.

Pension files

I highly recommend the services of Gopher Records! The service is quick, the document is very clear and it is always a joy to be able to have such a goldmine of genealogical information received so fast! One of the documents I received was well worth the cost: it contained a transcription of the family bible that listed the 13 siblings of the soldier (the oldest being born in 1814). If I had been at NARA, I would have been expelled from the reading room. I could scream all I want in the comfort of my home when I opened [...]
