Instead of wasting hours and days, then weeks on trying to research my ancestors that fought in the Civil war, I took some great advise from people in an online Civil War forum and used Gopher Records to do all of the legwork for me. Recently I used Bob's services again and was, again, very satisfied. He got what I wanted within a few days and the scanned PDF was very clear. He even called me on the phone because we had an email problem. Having worked with the Archives directly in the past I can also say that Bob's prices are competitive in addition to being fast (which the Archives is not). I was able to get the mother's pension record for my civil war ancestor thus learning the previously unknown name of her husband and the father of my ancestor. Bob was quick to provide these records and easy to work with. I will use again if the need arises.
