Service Highly Recommended
Gopher Records is a great service! The prices are reasonable and the response time is excellent. It was very easy to order, as well as to receive the scanned documents.
I had been waiting for months for the National Archives to fulfill a Mexican War pension file request. After seeing Gopher Records mentioned in the Vita Brevis blog (AmericanAncestors), I decided I had nothing to lose by contacting them. Bob answered my question about how to handle the fact that the record was already ordered with the National Archives. I ordered the pension [...]

My Order #3 On 1/8/24
I was very pleased to receive this product, which was the remnant from a previous order in 12/23 that has been delayed due to miscommunication between MYSELF & NARA. The patience demonstrated by Gopher Records in searching for a lost CMSR file and retrieving a Civil War pension file was most impressive. Through my three orders (so far) with Gopher Records, I have learned to trust their abilities over the previous experiences which I have had with NARA staff.

A stab in the dark
Some records are a stab in the dark. I still don't know if this is the right guy but I got the records very quickly, allowing me time to evaluate before deciding on the next move.

Highly recommend!!
I asked Gopher Records to locate pension records for a great great grandfather that I knew had served and within a short amount of time I had the records in my hands!! I received more information than I expected and the records were clear and easy to read. As a 40+ year genealogist I was thrilled to find information that was missing in my file on this individual. I highly recommend Gopher Records if you’re interested in obtaining records that you’ve been looking for and learning more about your family than you ever expected. Give them a try!! [...]

Bob Velke
I requested a full Civil War file on a great Uncle from Goopher records and Bob Velke came through with lightening speed. Within a week I had all digital files saved to my desktop, and while I had some difficulty in saving them, Bob offered to make a phone call and walk me through the process. I am beyond impressed at his expertise and highly recommed his services above and beyond what the NARC can offer. Keep up the good work, you are providing a valuable service to us researchers!

Very fast turnover, communicative!
I had my many Civil War records requests delivered to my email inbox within 7-10 days. 2 of my requests may need a trip to the St. Louis Archives and this need was relayed to me, along with sending what information that was on hand at NARA in Washington.
Followup emails were sent to make sure all info was downloaded ok.
Highly recommended

CIVIL WAR PENSION RECORDS
I am extremely pleased with the Service Gopher Records has provided. The price is good and the service is excellent. They provided exactly what I was looking for and very quickly. The service was easy to access and to follow their directions.
My great-mother was married to a soldier in the 1st United States Colored Heavy Artillery. He died of smallpox in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1866, before being discharged. It was remarkable to read my great grandmother's own words in her deposition. Since then I have taken an interest in the entire regiment. [...]
