I attended a genealogy conference this year and asked where the best place to request Civil War pension files from, the National Archives or FOLD3? I have ordered Bounty Land Applications from both NARA and now Gopher records. The difference in quality is astounding. The records recieved back from NARA are black and white scans of photo copies. The scans back from Gopher are high resolution and the true colors of the documents. I could not be more pleased!
