I only recently learned about gopherrecords.com. I was glad to find out I could request a search for War of 1812 records for one of my elusive brick wall ancestors and within about a week I had gotten the records back. The quality of the images was high and the digital delivery was easy. I will certainly use this site again if I need future American archived military records for genealogy research.

I heard about Gopher Records on Civil War Talk Radio, so I decided to give it a try. I had 40+ year-old faded, poor quality photocopies of my great-great grandfather's Civil War records that I wanted to update/replace and also asked for records on two other Civil War veteran ancestors. Gopher Records noted that records on one veteran were already digitized and available on Fold3. Records for the other two were provided 8 days after I requested them. The scan quality is excellent. I got the records for 2 of the 3 ancestors I requested records for within 10 days! (May have been less, I didn't keep track of time) That compared to the MONTHS I waited when I ordered from another company.
