Civil War Pension Records

I was so surprised when I received my records much earlier than expected. I highly recommend Gopher Records. Their customer service is excellent. After placing the order I received an email confirming the information requested and follow up email throughout the process. My expected delivery was 3-4 weeks, and maybe because the summer months are quieter, I received my order within a week!! I couldn't have asked for any more from Gopher Records, THANK YOU!!

Civil War Records

I heard about your service from a member of the DAR. She highly recommended your service is less expensive than other sources, you deliver in half the time and you are prompt in your replies. I found all of that to be absolutely true. I'll be using you again as I discover more records that I am in the need of. Thank you!

Blazing fast service!

Gopher records is amazing! Astonishingly fast service, an easy on-line ordering system, reasonable pricing, and very attentive customer service. The Land Entry Case Files I ordered (probably) confirmed a theory I have, and opened up some new questions...as these documents often do. It was great getting the answers weeks (or months) before I would have received them from NARA. Highly recommended!

2nd order

Just as with my first order, everything was great. The speed with which I received them was amazing. I was especially surprised at the speed because I’d ordered 2 at once and got them at the same time. The pages were very clear. Communication was great. I’ll be placing all future orders with Gopher.

Roderick McCoy

Roderick McCoy was KIA during the Civil War. His pension obtained first by his mother Agnes (Douglas) McCoy, then by his father Rhodam McCoy after Agnes's death. Gopher Records helped my client reclaim a history of these Free People of Color.

Resolved a long-standing debate!

Thanks to Bob & Gopher Records, we were able to put to rest a long-standing debate over how old a particular soldier was in our cemetery. Written on the man's discharge papers was a note from his commanding officer that the man was now 52 years old but at the time of enlistment was listed as age 40 just a year before the officer wrote this discharge. So this cleared up the mystery of his military records not matching other records we had for this man! Thank you, Gopher Records for helping us solve this mini-mystery!

A good experience

Retrieving some records can be insanely slow. I have made use of Gopher Records on a few occasions and found the service fast, easy to use and a reasonable cost. Very pleased.

Civil War Records

I'd ordered a complete set of my 3rd great-grandfathers Civil War Records; within a very short period of time I received a comprehensive set of records that helped to answer several questions I had been seeking for ancestral research. Gopher records is an invaluable source if you're your doing a deep dive into Civil War research. Well Done!

Thank you once again!

As usual, your service is great obtaining these records! Thank you so much!

Speedy and more than expected

I was looking for Civil War service records. I received those and records of a multiyear struggle to get a widow's pension. Dozens of affidavits detailing his service. How did they keep track of all that paperwork in the 19th century?
