Recently I used Bob's services again and was, again, very satisfied. He got what I wanted within a few days and the scanned PDF was very clear. He even called me on the phone because we had an email problem. Having worked with the Archives directly in the past I can also say that Bob's prices are competitive in addition to being fast (which the Archives is not). If you need pension or compiled service records Bob's your guy.

I was able to get the mother's pension record for my civil war ancestor thus learning the previously unknown name of her husband and the father of my ancestor. Bob was quick to provide these records and easy to work with. I will use again if the need arises.

I was referred to Gopher Records by a professional genealogist that I am associated with. I was very impressed with the fact that their prices for ordering Civil War pension records were nearly half the price that NARA has for their orders. Deciding to order the Civil War Pension File, I went on the Natl Archives website to do so. I ran into difficulties filling out their form. With that difficulty, I went on Facebook Group Random Act of Genealogical Kindness and asked others if they had similar problems. Several suggested using Gopher Records to have them do the research. I did and I'm very pleased. I got the files in about 2 weeks (far faster than they estimated on Natl Archives website) and at $45 (far cheaper than Natl Archives website)!!! I am pleased!!!
