Excellent service! Quick too!!

I placed an order for a few Civil War records from NARA and I was more than pleasantly surprised at how quickly they were able to copy my records and send them to me. I will absolutely use them again. Thank you thank you thank you!

Phenomenal

Fast, reasonable, and accurate. What more could you want? I have used this service several times and will keep coming back.

CIVIL WAR PENSION RECORDS

I am extremely pleased with the Service Gopher Records has provided. The price is good and the service is excellent. They provided exactly what I was looking for and very quickly. The service was easy to access and to follow their directions. My great-mother was married to a soldier in the 1st United States Colored Heavy Artillery. He died of smallpox in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in 1866, before being discharged. It was remarkable to read my great grandmother's own words in her deposition. Since then I have taken an interest in the entire regiment. [...]

Union Service Records from the War Between the States

My first experience with Gopher Records was exceptional! Records were returned in a timely fashion at a very reasonable price. The pension record claims for the veteran and subsequently, his widow, were comprised of many pages with priceless information! I will certainly use Gopher Records again!

Definitely Order

Far faster and less hassle than dealing directly with NARA. Super quick, very responsive communication, all-around rare excellent experience. Any records I need in the future, I'm going with Gopher. Go for it!

Civil War Pension Service

Bob and the team at Gopher Records has come through once again. The speed of the service, the qualiity of the scanning, and eye to detail is second to none. I would highly recommend the services of Gopher records to any historian, genealogist, or collector of military ephemera. All you need to do is try Gopher once and you will "Gopher" more records in the future with them.

Easy, Timely way to obtain Civil War Bundles

Ordered 10 total Civil War Bundles during ground hog day sale. Within 10 days my inbox was full with all 10 bundles. A few days later there was another email that a few more documents were found and provided for one of my soldiers. Have only had time to review one bundle so far - there are over 200 pages in that one. Images are excellent and more information than I ever thought would be found. One of my orders was for my gg grandfather and his widow's pension. I found online 14 pages of the [...]

Great Gopher Records for your National Archives needs!

Gopher Records had done two Pension File searches for me at the price of 1 Pension File through the National Archives. Not only are they more affordable, but they also have a fast turnaround. I love the digital format of the records, which also makes the turnaround time even quicker. The digital format also allows for a high-quality image of each page. I have used the National Archives for many years. At one time, I was fortunate to find a graduate student willing to go to the National Archives for me, which was great, [...]

Communication score: 5/5- they responded to my initial inquiry quickly and with everything I needed to know, and checked in while the work was in progress so I knew where things stood. Ease of Ordering: 5/5- a well-designed order form. Speed of Delivery: 5/5- they gave a reasonable time estimate and then were even quicker on delivery. Ease of Payment and Delivery of Material: 5/5- kudos to their webmaster! I can only wish every online transaction worked this well. Value: 5/5- Ordering from Gopher Records was affordable, even without reference to the much [...]

Fast, Friendly and Informative

This was my first Civil War ancestor who I had researched. Bob returned a wealth of information that not only answered questions as to specific service such as which military units my ancestor was assigned to, but I found out my ancestor was captured at the Battle of Wilderness and held as a prisoner of war at Andersonville. The pension file that Bob returned cleared up several mysteries regarding my ancestor and his first wife, and included testimony from several of my ancestors family members, thus confirming their place in my family tree. All in all, the service was [...]
