If you are absolutely sure that you have the right soldier, I would recommend ordering the service records and the pension records .

I made the order on I believe New Year’s Eve and yesterday it said it was ready for when I paid. $50 seemed a little much at first but after seeing 68 pages outlining my 3rd great grandfathers civil war service and life made me quick to realize that it would be worth $75 if that was the price too! I will definitely be using this service again in the near future for my other two civil war direct ancestors and maybe even some indirect ancestors as well! 6/5 stars!

I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. The information in the files has filled in the stories of my several of family lines. It is easy to order and the service was quick. The quality of the scan was excellent.

If you need Civil War Records quick for a project, This is the place you want to go. I used to do this kind of thing but I'm 71 and dont have the time or money for the Archives anymore. I used to get the military and pension records, Courts Martial records and other things from someone that lived in the National Archives area but his Military career took him elsewhere. Another friend recommended this fellow and I've used his services more than once. I highly recommend this site.
