I had first heard of Bob Velke and Gopher Records through the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. I contacted him, to see if he could locate a specific record concerning my Great Grandfather, who had served with the Iowa Cavalry during that conflict. Working on my own, I had been unsuccessful in locating the information that I wanted. Gopher Records obtained all the available records at NARA that I had requested, digitized them and made them available to me in a very efficient manner. Their pricing was reasonable too. I was very pleased with their service. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again should the need arise.

Gopher Records is awesome! The turn around time is very fast. When I received my pension record I was like a kid on Christmas morning! Because they found the record I needed, I was able to add a vital piece of information to my research. I'm sure I'll be using them again and again in the future.

I made the order on I believe New Year’s Eve and yesterday it said it was ready for when I paid. $50 seemed a little much at first but after seeing 68 pages outlining my 3rd great grandfathers civil war service and life made me quick to realize that it would be worth $75 if that was the price too! I will definitely be using this service again in the near future for my other two civil war direct ancestors and maybe even some indirect ancestors as well! 6/5 stars!
