Although I had personally researched and looked at my ancestors' muster roll records at the National Archives, many years ago, the pension files intimidated me and I decided to hand it off to the experts. I submitted my order just before Christmas and I didn't expect any response for weeks. But I received back my scanned file shortly after New Years. Despite the age of these documents the scans were clear and very readable. I am very happy with the result.

Wonderful experience working with Gopher Records. While I waited 6 months for NARA to deliver a requested document package, Bob Velke of Gopher Records completed a document request for me in a week and a half. Not only that, but he was instrumental in breaking the log jam on my NARA request, otherwise I believe I would not have received it in 6 months and probably would still be waiting. His personal service was outstanding. I can’t imagine going through NARA in the future when a service like Gopher Records is available.
