Wonderful experience working with Gopher Records. While I waited 6 months for NARA to deliver a requested document package, Bob Velke of Gopher Records completed a document request for me in a week and a half. Not only that, but he was instrumental in breaking the log jam on my NARA request, otherwise I believe I would not have received it in 6 months and probably would still be waiting. His personal service was outstanding. I can’t imagine going through NARA in the future when a service like Gopher Records is available.

I was very pleased to receive this product, which was the remnant from a previous order in 12/23 that has been delayed due to miscommunication between MYSELF & NARA. The patience demonstrated by Gopher Records in searching for a lost CMSR file and retrieving a Civil War pension file was most impressive. Through my three orders (so far) with Gopher Records, I have learned to trust their abilities over the previous experiences which I have had with NARA staff.

I have had two Civil War pension orders with Bob at Gopher Records. On both of them there were some hiccups, and Bob went above and beyond the call of duty in getting the records for me. I highly recommend him and his excellent price.

I submitted my order just before Christmas and I didn't expect any response for weeks. But I received back my scanned file shortly after New Years. Despite the age of these documents the scans were clear and very readable. I am very happy with the result.

Bob does an amazing job getting the records accurately and quickly. Ive been able to break through some brick walls in my genealogy using these military records. Although I had personally researched and looked at my ancestors' muster roll records at the National Archives, many years ago, the pension files intimidated me and I decided to hand it off to the experts. I made the order on I believe New Year’s Eve and yesterday it said it was ready for when I paid. $50 seemed a little much at first but after seeing 68 pages outlining my 3rd great grandfathers civil war service and life made me quick to realize that it would be worth $75 if that was the price too! I will definitely be using this service again in the near future for my other two civil war direct ancestors and maybe even some indirect ancestors as well! 6/5 stars!
