Looking for records to apply for War of 1812.

I wrote the NARA personally. I filled out their paperwork and waited 3 months for a reply which was "there is nothing available on this individual". I was certain that my 3rd great grandfather had fought in the War of 1812. Family stories were very strong on his behalf but I had no documentation to prove. I paid for a subscription to Fold 3, watched all the tutorials and could only find his name with no link to prove that this was the correct man. For less money than a year's subscription to Fold [...]

Excellent Service for Civil War Research

After hearing about Gopher Records through various online communities dedicated to genealogy, I decided to take the gamble of ordering both the service record and pension file for a direct descendant of my family. Even though I ordered them separately, I was highly impressed by the speed and quality of both my orders when they arrived, exceeding my honest expectations. I will definitely recommend this service to other folks who'd be interested in researching their Civil War ancestors, especially those within the reenacting community.

Resolved a long-standing debate!

Thanks to Bob & Gopher Records, we were able to put to rest a long-standing debate over how old a particular soldier was in our cemetery. Written on the man's discharge papers was a note from his commanding officer that the man was now 52 years old but at the time of enlistment was listed as age 40 just a year before the officer wrote this discharge. So this cleared up the mystery of his military records not matching other records we had for this man! Thank you, Gopher Records for helping us solve this mini-mystery!

A good experience

Retrieving some records can be insanely slow. I have made use of Gopher Records on a few occasions and found the service fast, easy to use and a reasonable cost. Very pleased.

Civil War Records

I'd ordered a complete set of my 3rd great-grandfathers Civil War Records; within a very short period of time I received a comprehensive set of records that helped to answer several questions I had been seeking for ancestral research. Gopher records is an invaluable source if you're your doing a deep dive into Civil War research. Well Done!

Thank you once again!

As usual, your service is great obtaining these records! Thank you so much!

Speedy and more than expected

I was looking for Civil War service records. I received those and records of a multiyear struggle to get a widow's pension. Dozens of affidavits detailing his service. How did they keep track of all that paperwork in the 19th century?

Great, Fast Service !!

I used Gopher Records to find the military record of my Great Great Grandfather who was in the 193rd Pa Infantry in the Civil War in 1864. I needed this record to join the SUVCW (Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War). It was speedy delivery to my website a little over a week later when my SUVCW contact said it usually takes some months when going through the government directly. I told my SUVCW contact about Gopher Records and he was very impressed and will recommend them to others.

Excellent service

High quality color document images in half the time it takes from the National Archives. And at a lower price.

Retrieval Records

Gopher Records was wonderful to work with. Quick turnaround times and great pricing. It was so easy to order my 2-times great-grandfather's Civil War records. Gopher records made finding my 2-times great-grandfather's records so easy. His birth name was Jens Christian Olson, which he changed to Jens O. Kirkeby but he enlisted into the army under John Olsen. It's been wonderful reading about his war time experiences. Thanks, Gopher Records for all your help. Carla
