I have obtained CMSRs two ways...one through NARA and one through Gopher Records. From now on I will only use Gopher Records. They were professional, quick, and reasonably priced. The records were in color and organized. I couldn't be more thrilled! The folder I got from NARA was in B&W and incomplete (because it's so large). I'm now going to ask Gopher Records for that file so I can see it in its entirety. I own my business and know how important good reviews are. I'm happy to give them glowing remarks! Gray Stabley

Although I've done a lot of genealogy for women interested in joining the Daughters of the American Revolution, questions about a Civil War lineage weren't addressed in the usual on-line sources - and my experience with the National Archives is that they take a long time. I've placed several orders with Gopher and only have the highest praise for the expeditious manner in which they get the job done. I've ordered from NARA directly in the past and it takes many months and if the file you've requested is more than 100 pages, it takes some back and forth before you can get the rest of it. With this service you get all the pages which are available. And, comparing the files I've received from NARA to those I've received from Gopher, I'd say Gopher's scanning is better.

I was frustrated with finding a 1812 pension record for one of my ancestors. I had his service record but not the pension. I thought I had checked every possible spelling of his last name.
