Great experience
I had the best first experience with Gopher Records. They asked questions to make sure they had all the correct information, explained everything in detail, and provided me with a complete scan of the file very quickly. I will definitely use Gopher Records again.

Excellent, fast service
The ordering and downloading processes are straightforward and transparent. I opted for a bundle, and the number of records that I got, and the information in them, was well worth the price. I will gladly turn to GOPHER again for my next Civil War soldier ancestor.

Amazing finds .. so quick, so accurate, so beyond the basics
I cannot say enough good things about Gopher Records. They have consistently delivered above and beyond my expectations. I first reached out to them to locate a USCT pension file, and they came through quickly and efficiently. Most recently, they pulled another file for me—this time for William Crook—and it turned out to be an incredible 529 pages. I received it back in record time, and now I’ll be spending weeks combing through it and even longer piecing together all the details.
Ever since I discovered Gopher Records, I’ve had complete faith in their ability to get the job done [...]

Thanks for answering the Q: Where’s James Thomas?
Gopher Records has retrieved several pensions for me. I could not be happier with their service and price. Each has contained valuable information--much of it containing sole-source genealogical facts. I have found pension fraud, child abandonment, bigamy, communications of historic import, and a physical artifact. Until you see a full pension packet, you have little idea how much you can get to know ancestors via them.
The enclosed image is just the latest amazing discovery. James Thomas' life was not very well documented in the usual family tree hangouts like Ancestry and FamilySearch. The reason is hidden in his pension [...]

Finding Benjamin
I had never heard of Gopher Records until I read a post on the Adams County, Ohio Genealogy Researchers Facebook Group telling how Gopher Records helped find some very helpful pension records. Okay, I thought. I'll give it a try. I filled out a request that very same day for the Civil War Pension file for my Second Great Grandfather Benjamin Truitt. Within a few days I received an email saying my file was ready to download.
Three characteristics about Gopher Records stand out for me. One, they are very personable in their email responses. Maybe this tells me [...]

Civil War records
Almost unbelievable response to my request for Civil War records, just a matter of days! Looks like a very thorough search of records and delivery back to me. Worth the cost for sure.
( I found your name / advertisement in "The Banner " , the quarterly magazine of the Sons of Union
Veterans of the Civil War. )
Thanks again, my second time using your service.

Excellent Customer Service – Quick Turnaround
I had ordered a record through the National Archives then found out the wait time was up to 90 days. The next day I learned about Gopher Records from a friend who used their services praising their quick turn around. I messaged Gopher Records and received a return message that same day. After explaining my situation with NARA and the records I was looking for, Bob Velke let me know which records were available for my research and helped me to understand that what I had ordered through NARA was not what I actually wanted. I was able to [...]

Civil War documents
This was a great way to obtain the info I wanted quickly. I had no idea all the military records would tell me so much about my great great uncle's life. Will definitely look into more records on ancestors.
Next project Would love to find a photo.

One more step in the quest to find more family heritage.
Thanks to Bob Velke I received a lot of information for my Civil War ancestor. He did not serve very long due to the war ending, but my questions were answered. [...]

Civil War records
I had heard about Gophers Records. My gr. grandfather was in the civil war and had just a little information.
I contacted Gophers Records with what little information I had and they were very helpful and fast.
My thanks to Bob Velke for all the help he gave me. He sent me records on 5 of the soldiers with the same name as my gr grandfather. I looked them over and I am pretty sure I have narrowed it down to one of them.
I would never of found these records, and the price was so much cheaper.
I would [...]
