I only recently learned about gopherrecords.com. I was glad to find out I could request a search for War of 1812 records for one of my elusive brick wall ancestors and within about a week I had gotten the records back. The quality of the images was high and the digital delivery was easy. I will certainly use this site again if I need future American archived military records for genealogy research.

I've been trying to find information about an ancestor of mine who served in the Civil War. He seems to have been in trouble several times and might have been court martialed at some point. I couldn't find any information on my own. I reached out to Gopher Records to see if they could help. They weren't able to find any court martial records (no charge for that).
