So far I've only submitted 2 requests for Pension Records. The first one was found to be already researched so they sent it to me free of charge!! WOW!! They got a customer for life just because of that!! The next one I got was a Civil War pension record of a Great Uncle, no genealogy gold mine but at least a clearer understanding of him. On the recommendation of another customer, we ordered War of 1812 bounty application files. The order was completed ahead of estimated delivery. Communication throughout was excellent. The resulting scanned document was marvelous. Even though one of our files wasn't available (NARA misplaced), we could not be more pleased with the outcome. Having used the original records at NARA, we know how challenging it can be and appreciate the overall professional service.

You really can't beat the service - a complete set of Civil War records in 10 days for less than it would cost me to go to NARA and do it myself (and with far less hassle). I will use Gopher Records wherever possible.

I had an old black and white copy of an ancestor's pension file. Some pages were barely readable. I requested the file through Gopher Records. They retrieved not only the pension file but also his service and medical records. The images are clear and provide information that I previously could not read. I have used Gopher many times, most recently regarding a bok I am writing regarding a sodlier who died at Andersonville abut the yer befor we knew he was in the Union hospital and did not know why.
